Gangtok Tour

DAY 1: Pick up and a ride to Gangtok from the Airport/Railway Station (5hrs/128kms/in a rental vehicle)
Meet and greet at the Airport/NJP Railway Station after which the journey commences.

Distance: 128kms to Gangtok (5,500ft.)
Overnight stay at Gangtok

DAY 2: A trip to Tsomgo Lake and its nearby attractions
Destination: Tsomgo Lake (12,400ft) and 34kms from Gangtok
Duration: Depends on the weather but normally 3hrs
Trip Description: After a hearty breakfast start the tour to Tsomgo Lake (12,400ft, 34km). The lake is 1 km long, oval in shape and 50ft deep. Here you can witness snow, snowfall (if you’re lucky) & Yak Riding.
Visit to the legendary Baba Mandir & Nathula Pass (The Indo-China border) depends upon the availability of permit which costs an additional of Rs3000 per vehicle (Monday and Tuesday the pass is closed). Overnight stay at Gangtok.

DAY 3: Sightseeing in Gangtok and its nearby tourist’s attractions
Description of the tour: Early morning visit to the holy Rumtek Monastery and the majestic Banjhakri Falls. Sightseeing in Gangtok and visit nearby attractions like Ropeway. Do-Drul Chorten, Namgyal Institute of Tibetology, Directorate of Handicraft & Handloom (Sunday Closed) & Flower Show (Orchid).
Overnight stay at Gangtok.

DAY 4: Drive towards Pelling from Gangtok for the second leg of the trip
Trip description: Shortly after a nice and healthy breakfast head towards Pelling (7,200ft, 115kms from Gangtok) for continuation of the trip. Overnight stay at Pelling.

DAY 5: Sightseeing at Pelling and its nearby attractions
Description of the tour: After breakfast start for a full day sightseeing. Visit Darap Village, Rimbi Water Falls, Rimbi Power Project, Rock Garden, Kanchenjunga falls, Khechopari Lake (it is one of the sacred Buddhist lake and it is believed that whatever is wished in front of the lake comes true). Back to hotel for lunch. After lunch visit Pemayangtse Monastery, Rabdentse Palace Ruins.
Overnight stay at Pelling.

DAY 6: A ride to Darjeeling
Description: After a hearty breakfast, drive to Darjeeling (7,200ft, 35 kms) from Kalimpong for the final leg of the tour. Overnight stay at Darjeeling.

DAY 7: Sightseeing in Darjeeling and its nearby attractions
Description of the tour: Early Morning (at around 4 am) drive to Tiger hill to watch the spectacular sunrise over Mt. Khangchendzonga (28,208 ft. Worlds 3rd highest peak) (subject to clear weather). On the way back visit Ghoom Monastery and Batasay Loop. After breakfast visit Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, P.N. Zoological Park (Thursday closed), Tenzing Rock, Tibetan Refugee self-help Centre (Sunday closed), Tea Garden (outer view) and Japanese Temple (4hrs from 9.00 to 13.00hrs). Evening free for shopping and personal activities.
Overnight stay at Darjeeling.

DAY 8: Drop to Bagdogra Airport / NJP railway station according to the schedule.
